The Welsh Government recently tendered for Work Based Learning for the period 2011-2014. PRP Training entered into a consortium led by Pembrokeshire College for the delivery of work based learning. The consortium is represented by public and private providers, voluntary sector, higher education and employers. The consortium was successful in achieving a framework agreement for 2011-2014.
The Consortium – Skills Academy Wales (South West) is focused primarily on the geographical areas of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, and further afield where the particular needs of employers and clients dictate. The Consortium is affiliated to Skills Academy Wales – a network of like minded Consortia - with a momentum towards improved regional planning, raised standards, continuous improvement and greater efficiency.
The Consortium Lead is Pembrokeshire College, and other members are Coleg Sir Gar, PRP Training, and The Prince’s Trust. All members are experienced providers holding either Welsh Government contracts currently or Skills Funding Agency contracts in England.
Collectively the Consortium members believe that their provision and arrangements will be of significant benefit to learners, employers, the Welsh economy, and will contribute towards the policy agenda of the WG.
