Courses

Can’t Cook Want to Cook

Our catering course for children is designed by the Executive Chef of the Tudor Lodge Restaurant.

The day will begin with an introduction to food hygiene and health and safety in a catering environment.

Then the fun begins. They will learn a basic understanding of healthy eating with a demonstration from our chef. Following that they will be issued with recipes where they will reproduce the dishes themselves such as vegetable burgers, flapjacks, stuffed pasta tubes and much more.

The last part of the day will be a ready steady cook competition. The children will be given a bag of food with which they must produce a main meal, which gives them a chance to experiment with food.

Mucky Fingers Garden Club

Our gardening and landscaping course uses our large enclosed garden in The Tudor Lodge.

The day will begin with a brief introduction and health and safety issues before the each child will be given a piece of garden for them to prepare and plant seasonal flowers and vegetables using natural and organic materials. Each child will also have their own plant pot to decorate, plant and take home.

After a break for lunch, the children will learn about the local wildlife and how urban pollution can impact on the local wildlife and environment. Each child will then make their own habitats to take home with them from bird tables or houses to nesting boxes and feeding stations.

Cygnet to Swan Hair and Beauty Academy

Our hair and beauty course gives children the chance to experiment with different temporary hair styles, make up and nail designs.

The day begins with a brief introduction to health and safety. Throughout the morning, we will demonstrate to the group how to apply make up with lots of tips using glitter and face paints, demonstrate a hair style and complete it with temporary hair colour and glitter, also a demonstration on how to apply nail varnish correctly and finish the look with nail art design.

After a break for lunch, each child will then try out the skills that they have learnt on each other, culminating in a fashion show for the group.

Crafty Kids

Our Crafty kids course is a chance for your child to let out their artistic side in the form of different arts and craft activities including toilet tube hot rods, mosaic murals, ICT T-Shirt printing and clay sculpting.

The children will be given a theme for the day and each child will then have a minimum of 3 different projects which they can either take home that day or be picked up at a later date (dependant on drying times).

PRP Popstars and Performers

Our Popstars and Performers course is designed to bring out the next Beyoncé or Justin Timberlake in your child.

The day will consist of ice breaking activities and learning dances routines from hits such as High School Musical and all modern dance genres.

PRP Popstars and Performers don't just learn the skills needed to act and dance, they will put on a better show all round. They will gain confidence and self esteem while learning to move better and to express themselves more fluently. None of these skills disappear when the curtain falls. As well as skills for the stage - they are skills for life!!

Whatever their future role may be, youngsters could be rehearsing for it, while they enjoy themselves at PRP Popstars and Performers.
