Position; NVQ Assessor/Placement Supervisor

Hours; Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. working 37.5 hours per week - flexibility is required to work outside core office hours however to complete observations with learners when key activities occur within their places of work.

Job Specific Details;

The successful applicant will be required to work with a caseload of approximately 35 learners in their places of work. Typically an NVQ Assessor/Placement Supervisor will work in around eight workplaces with their learners on average in a variety of settings. Above all the successful applicant will possess the relevant industry knowledge as explained to follow.

All assessment staff are expected to work through a framework of qualifications with each learner. This will incorporate the actual NVQ the learner is signed up to follow, usually at Level Two and Three (there are however more advanced Levels outside of this), but moreover their Key Skills and typically a Technical Certificate - all of which map in to one another.
This position is highly process driven, therefore the ability to manage one's time and have strong administrative skills are essential to the successful delivery of this role. Paperwork is therefore not for the faint hearted as this is a means which is used to evidence learner progression. The ability moreover to be very focused and motivated are key attributes the Company look for when an applicant joins our expanding assessment team. Applicants have to be able to demonstrate their ability to think on their feet and take charge of theirs and that of their learners destiny's.
We are always interested in discussing applications from people from the relevant occupational settings, and even people that likewise have achieved or are working towards an NVQ coupled with the Framework elements as aforementioned. Therefore applicants should not be put off if they do not have a training background or the relevant assessment qualifications as support will be given to ensure this short fall is soon overcome.
The successful applicant will therefore be prepared to work towards the fuller Learning & Development qualification, whilst initially working towards both the A1 - Assessing Award and the V1 - Internal Verifier Award, should these not already be held at application stage. An abundance of opportunities exist within the Company to strengthen the successful applicants 'Continual Professional Development' as a vast array of differing training courses/qualifications are available from the outset of one's employment.

Industry knowledge explained;
Applications are always welcomed from people whom currently work in the following settings. It should be noted however that applicants must have worked within these settings for at least the last three years to suffice Awarding Body standards.

Health & Social Care - Adult Care

You may currently be employed as a Care Assistant or Senior Carer - you may even be a Manager/Deputy Manager or Nurse looking for a career change
Typically you will have worked in a Residential Care Home and/or Nursing Home setting. We are however interested to talk to any health care professional.

Health & Social Care - Child Care

You may currently be employed as a Child Carer/Crèche Facilitator or Learning Support Assistant - you may even be currently employed at a supervisory level or
may be in a Management/Deputy Management position looking for a career change.
Typically you will have worked in Crèche's, Nurseries, Infant/Junior School settings .

Hospitality

You may currently work as a General Assistant that has the opportunity to work in all areas of the business you are currently employed at. You might even be
employed at a Supervisory or Management level, or even be a Chef looking to make a career change.
Typically you will work within a bar, hotel and/or restaurant setting.

Business Administration/E-commerce

You may currently be an Office Worker/Call Centre Representative that is able to provide ample evidence of your knowledge within this sector
Places of work are varied at this level and do include general office environments and even call centre settings.

Information Communication Technology

You may be in an environment whereby you support end users of IT hardware/equipment and software. We are interested therefore in discussing
applications from prospective applicants that have held varying IT orientated roles.
Typically you will be employed in an organisation that may not necessarily have a dedicated IT Department, however the prospective applicant must be able
to demonstrate their IT capabilities and their support to the Company employed at and its staff.

Management

You will be currently employed at a more senior level and perhaps hold the title of Manager.
Applications for this job role are however welcome from managers at a variety of industry settings.

Hairdressing

You may currently be employed as a hairdresser/stylist, or may even be employed at a supervisory/management level looking for a career change.
Typically you will have worked in this very setting holding the necessary industry knowledge as aforementioned.
