First Aid Courses

 

These courses meet the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The regulations require that 'an employer shall provide, or ensure there is provided, such numbers of suitable persons as is adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for rendering first aid to his employees if they become ill or injured at work'.
 
Community First Aid – Half day course


The Community First Aid course is designed to train members of the public that require basic first aid skills. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

The Community First Aid course is available to all persons over twelve years of age.

 

Emergency First Aid – 1 day course


The Emergency First Aid course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require appointed person training in basic first aid skills. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

The Emergency First Aid course is designed to meet the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.
 
Basic First Aid – 2 day course


The Basic First Aid course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require appointed person training in basic first aid skills and require training in the management of specific illnesses and injuries. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

 
First Aid at Work - 4 day course
The First Aid at Work course is designed to train individuals and company staff that requires HSE approved first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations. This course will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services. It also covers other topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR and other first aid health and safety at work information.
The First Aid at Work course is designed to meet the requirements of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for First Aid in the Workplace.
The initial course is delivered over a minimum of 4 days (24 contact hours). The 2 day refresher course covers the complete syllabus and updates any changes to procedures or protocols.
 
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) &
Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrillation course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require CPR and AED training. This course will provide the required skills necessary to manage a patient that is unconscious and not breathing normally prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

This course meets the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council (UK) for training CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators.

This course will be delivered in accordance with the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.

 
Paediatric First Aid - 2 day course
The Paediatric First Aid course is designed to train individuals to provide immediate first aid care for infants and children. This course also includes adult essential skills in basic life support as they differ from the skills of the infant and child.
The course also meets the first aid requirements of the National Child minding Association, the Pre-School Learning Alliance, Ofsted and the Department for Children and families, Surestart guidelines for Paediatric First Aid.
This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a infant of child that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
